We strive to make your first visit to our office a comfortable experience. Our receptionist will welcome you and ask you to complete our required forms. These forms will give us important information about you and your condition. If you have insurance, please be sure to have your insurance card and driver’s license on hand for our records. If possible, please call the office ahead of time with this information so we can assist you in verifying your chiropractic coverage.
The doctor will then spend some time asking specific questions about your condition and health history. After discussing your condition the doctor will give you a thorough chiropractic examination, such as testing your ability to turn and bend, your reflexes, and other standard postural, neurological, orthopedic, and physical examinations. This important information will allow the doctor to have a better understanding of your condition and to determine if chiropractic can help you. If the doctor determines that chiropractic care is not the most effective form of care for you at this time, he will make an appropriate referral to another physician.
If it is determined that you are a good candidate for chiropractic care, a Digital Motion X-Ray study may be required in order for the doctor to visually identify the source of your problem and to document any injuries, guide safe and effective treatment, and to assess future progress. Douglass Chiropractic is the first clinic on the Emerald Coast to have this state-of-the-art technology in-house.
At this point the doctor will need time to carefully review the results of your x-ray, history and examination in order to design a treatment plan specifically for you. These results are discussed during your next follow-up appointment, at which point the doctor will review the report of findings and treatment recommendations and you will then decide how you would like to proceed with treatment.
Most patients will get relief from the very first adjustment during the follow-up appointment! Chiropractic adjustments are gentle enough for kids yet will restore movement and function for the athlete and senior. Our office participates in many different insurance programs; For patients with no insurance coverage, we have a self-pay option. We also offer Care Credit as an additional payment option.
